GENERAL DESCRIPTION A phosphoric acid based rust removal treatment for metal surfaces. USES To remove rust and corrosion from metal surfaces to prepare a clean surface ready for paint application. Suitable metal surfaces including rusted steel, iron and wrought iron. Not suitable for use on zinc or cadmium plated metals.
COVERAGE Coverage of up to 17 square meters per litre depending upon surface roughness. APPLICATION TOOLS Brush. PROVIDE ADEQUATE VENTILATION DURING USE. DRYING TIMES Dry Time - 16 hours. Drying times refer to normal conditions (25°C, 50% humidity). Under cooler, humid or still conditions, longer drying times may be necessary.

SURFACE PREPARATION: For rusted steel and wrought iron, first remove all flaking rust with a wire brush or by scraping. Liberally apply one coat of RustLock Derustit Rust Converter by brush. DO NOT DILUTE. If corrosion is heavy, wire brushing may be required to assist penetration. After drying, dust off with a dry brush to remove loose deposits. Do not allow water to contact surface before priming.
FINISHING Apply 1 coat of RustLock Water-Based AntiCorrosive Metal Primer. Finish with 2 coats of RustLock Water-Based Enamel Gloss Metal Paint.. CLEAN UP Clean equipment with water immediately after use.
COATING CONDITIONS Do not apply if the temperature is below 10°C or above 30°C. While in hot weather, avoid painting in direct sunlight. Avoid applying externally in late afternoon in winter or in doubtful weather as frost, dew or rain is likely to impair gloss or durability of the coating. STORAGE Protect from extremes of temperature. Store between 5°C and 30°C.
PRECAUTIONS Safety Directions:
CAUSES BURNS. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapours. Wear suitable, protective clothing, eye protection and impervious gloves when mixing and using. Harmful by inhalation. Handling and usage of this product must be carried out under well-ventilated conditions that prevent inhalation of vapours. Use the appropriate breathing equipment when ventilation is restricted. Keep container closed when not in use. First Aid Instructions:
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, drink plenty of water and seek immediate medical advice. Contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Phone 13 11 26). If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with fresh water. In case of eye contact, hold eyes open and flush with running water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice.
Protect Our Environment: DO NOT pour left over product down the drain. Retain it in a marked, sealed container for future use or disposal via chemical waste collection programs. Dried empty containers may be recycled and should be disposed via council recycling facilities. Do not re-use empty containers. For best results, preparation is vitally important when repainting. Always ensure that the adhesion of old paint is sound before proceeding.
